Bangalore : It was another dubious ‘high’ for Karnataka as around 26 Covid-19 cases were reported in the last 24 hours, taking the state’s tally to 500.
Bengaluru topped the table again with 13 positive cases, of which 9 where reported from Hongasandra ward. Belagavi district reported 9 positive cases, while Mandya, Chikaballapur, Dakshina Kannada and Mysuru district reported one case each.
As per the media bulletin released on Saturday evening, Karnataka has 324 active cases , of which 7, including a pregnant woman, are in the ICU.
The bulletin maintained that the nine positive cases reported from Belagavi district are from Hirebagewadi village and most of them are secondary contacts of a Tablighi Jamaat returnee who is named patient 128. One of the Belagavi positive cases is an anganwadi worker who had visited the village to collect data of primary and secondary contacts.
As per the bulletin, Bengaluru Urban has 133 positive cases, of which 80 are active, while Mysuru has 89 positive cases, of which in which 55 are active.
Belagavi has 54 positive cases, of which 49 are being treated at designated hospitals, while Vijayapura has 37 active cases, Kalaburagi has 25 active cases, Bagalkot has 21 active cases, Mandya has 16, Bellary has 10, Bidar 6, Chikaballapur 5, Dakshina Kannada and Bengaluru Rural have 4 each, Dharwad 7, Gadag 3, while Uttara Kannada and Tumkur district have one active case each being treated in hospitals.
