Mangaluru: According to the circular, Shops will be allowed to function during the relief hours. Malls, salons, beauty parlours, bars and restaurants, dental clinics and religious places and other places where people gather in big numbers will remain closed.
Wine shops will remain open from May 4 from 9 am to 7 pm, but only for take-aways.
No pass would be required to go out during the relief hours. But permission and pass would be required if people need to travel outside Dakshina Kannada. Buses will not ply, however, auto rickshaws, cars and two-wheelers will be allowed but with restrictions on number of passengers.
In Karnataka, individuals are allowed to possess the following quantites of liquor without licence under Rule 21 of Karnataka Excise (Possession Transport etc) Rules 1967:
IMFL – 4.6 litres
Beer – 18.2 litres
Wine – 9.0 litres
Toddy – 2.5 litres
FMFL – 9.1 litres
