Bengaluru: Master Tanishk Prem a student of class VI DPS North Bengaluru, has come up with a novel idea of ‘Smart Dust Bin’ to fight COVID 19 while aligning with thought process of PM Modi who said ‘Social Distancing’ is the only weapon we have to survive this pandemic.
He invented the prototype of smart dust bin which will open its lid the moment someone approaches it and after the garbage is put in the bin the lid will get automatically closed. This will reduce the chances of getting infected while touching the lid of dust bin by the user.
Tanishk has used microprocessor-based chip programming, sensors, servo motors and power bank to make the prototype of smart bin. The working model can be effectively utilised in different labs, wards and operation theatre of various hospitals where there is very high chances of getting infected.
The cost of manufacturing the smart bin is around Rs 1000. This model can be used to produce these smart bins on mass scale by Govt and same can be supplied to various hospitals. A video of the working model is also uploaded on twitter @ #makeinindia #premshivi
It is really heartening to see that young minds at an age of 11 is coming out with such a simple and implementable solution to such a grave problem. His efforts to help Corona Warriors in fighting infection by maintaining distance from dust bin is really praiseworthy.
