Bengaluru : As the family members of maiya point out to the discrepencies in suicide of Vasudev Maiya, Former CEO, Guru Raghavendra Bank, who was found dead in his car, has now reached the CID Police, which according to the sources is all set to begin its interrogation of Santosh and other directors who are named in the FIR following a complaint by Rashmi H Hemle- daughter of the deceased.
The death of CEO Maiya has opened the can of worms with his daughter on 7, July2020 complaining against eleven persons including the Santosh Kumar A, Present CEO Guru Raghavendra Co-operative bank. The others are Raghunath, Reddy Brothers, SHMines, Rajath, Kumaresh, Thallam, Ravi Aiythal, Rakesh, Sreepada Hegade and Prasahanth
Maiya who committed suicide on July 6 has written a death note, which runs upto 6 pages and blames eight persons for hiom taking the extreme step. Interestingly the Police has so far not revealed any details pertaining to the death note, despite the pressure from the complainant.
Considering the seriousness, the Commissioner of Police Bhaskar Rao has recommended a probe by CID. Accordingly the CID has now tightened its noose over these eleven accused including the CEO.
Among those eleven, Santosh Kumar A on 7 Feb, 2020 had filed a written complaint to Banawadi station house officer against Maiya blaming him all alone for recommending loans, disbursing it, raising advances using depositor’s money aand adjusting the NPA Accounts. He had stated that he committed frauds and caused criminal breach of trust of depositors and committed fraud in such accounts.
The investigation is now heading with full speed. Though the Police has refused to divulge further informations, a few questions have been raised to provide food for thought like “ Is it possible fior a single person to indulge in fraud of such magnitude ?
Rashmi in defence of her father has alleged that her father has disbursed the; loan with consent from administrative board. She has also blamed people for misusing the password and the RBI authorities who visited to inspect the bank have forcibly obtained his signatures on some documents.
The bank is facing allegations of Rs 1400 core fraud between 2012- 2018. In addition to it it has allocated a loan of Rs 1323 crores to 2876 accounts in 69 loans. This huge sum8 transaction fraud has also brought the bank into the focus of Enforcement Directorate, which had summoned Santosh for questioning.
