What do you say if fishermen in Digha(West Bengal) find 780 kg fish costs Rs 20 lakh. It’s a fortune in the guise of fish in the time of lockdown. A rare species fish known as Chilshankar caught in a trawler owned by a man from Orissa. The fish was so heavy that ropes were used to move the Chilshankar fish. Tied with the ropes with the ends, carried to a van, sent to the Mohana Fisher’s Association. The fish was auctioned in the local market at Rs 2100 per kg. The total value of fish cost crossed Rs 20 lakh. Local fishermen were surprised to see the fish and said “we have never seen such a huge fish in our lifetime which weighed 800 kg pricing 2100 per kg. The fish scale and oil are used in making medicines and the rest of the body serves as a delicious dish in this monsoon season.
