New Delhi: Home Minister Amit Shah has been admitted to AIIMS for Covid care. He tested negative for Covid-19. He has been complaining of fatigue and body aches for the last 3 to 4 days. Now he is comfortable. He is continuing his work from the hospital, said AIIMS media and protocol division Chairperson Dr. Aarti Vij in a statement.
Mr Shah was discharged from the private hospital Medanta in Gurgaon last week after testing negative for Covid-19. Before 3 weeks ago when he tested positive for Covid-19, he attended a cabinet meeting to approve NEP with PM Narendra Modi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitaraman. All safety measures were taken during the meeting. Extensive contact tracing had been carried out and anyone who came in contact with the Home Minister was asked to self-isolate.
In the last 24 hours India reported 55,079 positive covid cases and 875 deaths. There has been decline in the daily number of Covid-19 cases for the last 3 days, there were 63,490 infections on Sunday, 57,981 on Monday, health ministry data showed. Indian recovery rate climbed to 73%.
