Mumbai: Shiv Sena MLA Pratap Saranaik ought to be arrested for intimidating actress Kangana Ranaut, over remarks made by the actress that Mumbai felt like Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. Shiv Sena MLA Pratap Sarnaik threatened Kangana in an interview. He must immediately get arrested, Mumbai Police. Taking suo motu(cognizance), tweeted National Commission For Women Chairperson Rekha Sharma on Friday.
Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut had written in the party mouthpiece, “ We kindly request her not to come to Mumbai. This is nothing but an insult to Mumbai Police. The Home Ministry should take action over it,” after the actress made constant attacks on the Maharashtra government and Mumbai Police.
Reacting to the statements made by Shiv Sena MP, Kangana Ranaut said, “ Sanjay Raut has given me an open threat and asked me not to come back to Mumbai, after Aazadi graffitis in Mumbai streets and now open threats, why Mumbai is feeling like Pakistan occupied Kashmir?”
After receiving threats from both MLA and MP of the ruling party, Shiv Sena Ms. Kangana Ranaut on Friday tweeted, she will land at the Mumbai airport on September 9. Kisi ke baap mein himmat hai toh rokle (Stop me if you dare).
Amruta Fadnavis, the wife of former Maharashtra CM and BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis, tweeted indirectly supporting actor Kangana Ranaut, who made controversial treatment about Mumbai “ Felt like Pakistan-occupied Kashmir”. Without naming the actress she wrote on her twitter, freedom of speech and right to express must be defended in a democracy even if we do not agree with someone. We can have counter arguments but beating posters of critics with chappals is a new low.
In the backdrop of a raging war between the coalition government leaders and the actress, the BJP leader Ashish Shelar said, “Kangana should not try to teach Mumbai, Mumbaikars and Maharashtra. Sanjay Raut should not attack us through Kangana Ranaut. BJP has nothing to do with Kangana.”
The actress currently stays in her hometown Manali, Himachal Pradesh. The actress is targeting the Mumbai Police and Mumbai government over the investigation in Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case.
