*Congress can never uplift Vokkaligas: Minister Dr Sudhakar*
*Politics demands efficiency, kindness, and foresight, not “dhum”, says Minister*
Bengaluru: How will Congress address the demands of Vokkaligas of the state when it failed to take care of the Vokkaligas in the party, asked Health and family welfare and Medical Education minister Dr K Sudhakar.
He was speaking at the Rajarajeshwari Nagar by-election campaign for BJP candidate Muniratna held at Laggere and Kottigepalya on Wednesday. He said, “A politician must be kind, efficient, and have foresight, and not “dhum” as few Congress leaders have been saying in the past week. Muniratna embodies these characteristics. During Covid19 crisis, he has worked on par with the Government’s efficiency to provide essential commodities to every household and was a part of their struggles.”
Dr Sudhakar added that Muniratna is unlike those politicians who visit only during elections and vanish after the results. He expressed confidence that uncertainty lies only in the number of votes that will make Muniratna win the elections and not in his victory. He is the indisputable winner while the rest are vying for the second and third place in the by-polls, Dr Sudhakar said.
Condemning irresponsible statements by Congress leaders, he said, “Both Gopalaiah and I belong to Vokkaligas. Would we have left the party if they treated us well? Congress failed to address the needs of Vokkaligas in the party. How will it uplift the community in the state? Congress is indulging in caste politics for its gain.”
He further said, “We did not leave Congress for personal aspirations. Is Muniratna in need of money? He has contributed to RR Nagar constituency’s development as a a corporator and legislator. He was given tickets to contest polls by Congress too, not once but twice. Only because he has joined BJP, he has gone from being a “dhaiva” (god) to “devva” (demon) for Congress leaders.”
“The real “Kurukshetra” is being held in RR Nagar. The fight is between truth and lies. The people of the constituency must make the truth triumph,” said Dr Sudhakar.
Muniratna tendered resignation to his MLA post when he was not given his due. His win in the election is people’s victory, he added.
