Bengaluru Nov 3, 2020*: Azim Premji Foundation has been working closely with the Karnataka government and NGOs in fighting with Covid-19 pandemic in the state, especially in Bengaluru. Public health system should function consistently to tackle the pandemic effectively. The foundation has been working in this direction in collaboration with the institutions which are closely related with the public health system. Spreading awareness among the public, increase testing, providing basic infrastructure for the treatment of Covid patients etc are being undertaken by the foundation.
*Highlights of work done by Azim Premji Foundation*:
• Foundation has supported 150 bedded Charaka super specialty hospital with staff from “Doctors For You”.
• Foundation has been carrying out more number of Covid testing and committed for providing ICMR certified test results.
• Foundation has donated 5 high throughput liquid handling system to BMCRI, NIMHANS, NIBS and NIV. Also 3 RTPCR machines and 4 RNA extraction machines to BMCRI, Bowring & Lady Curzon hospitals in Raichur, Koppala and Yadagir.
• 17 TrueNat machines have been provided to primary Health care units in Bengaluru.
