MBA graduate, now doing Ph.D., sells apples online sets example for reforms in fruit packaging and sale, to farmers in Kashmir
An engineering and MBA graduate from South Kashmir’s Shopian district is marketing apples online which is setting examples for Kashmir farmers. His fruit packaging is matching global standards. Adnan Ali Khan (30-year-old) has become a local hero by setting up a supply chain that promises good price to farmers by helping them sell their products online. Adan Ali Khan is now doing his Ph.D. on “value addition, planning, and marketing of Kashmiri products.” Khan launched his online venture that delivers Kashmiri apples in retail packs on the internet. He started this business in September when he sold the products from his family-owned apple orchards and is now receiving orders online. He is the fourth generation farmer in his family. He is selling 15 varieties of apples and selling to customers in packs having one to six apples.
