Only five percent of our wishes fulfilled, we will shut malls, petrol pumps if Jan 4 talks fail; say farmers
Jalandhar, Haryana: Farm unions in Haryana warned if the next round of talks fail, we will shut malls and petrol pumps in Haryana.
Farmers demand repeal of the three new farm laws and a legal guarantee for MSP in the January 4 meeting. Farmer leader Yadhuveer Singh said.” The govt cannot make us leave this place like they did in Shaheen Bagh”.
The all Indian Sangharsh Coordination Committee (AIKSCC) in a statement said, “Pro-corporate intellectuals discussing the compromise formula. Farmers will not settle down for less than repealing of the three laws because these Bills hand over agriculture markets, farming process, farmers land and food security to the corporators, and issues to cover its adamant position”. Addressing a press conference at Singhu border site on Friday, farmers said, only five percent of the issues raised by them have till today are discussed with the govt.
Samkyukt Kisan Morcha, a union of 40 farmer unions is protesting at different Delhi border points. The union said “ If the results of the talks Jan 4 are not satisfactory, a tractor march will be taken out from the protest site to the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal Expressway on Jan 6 and a call will also be given to those farmers protesting at Shahjahanpur on the Haryana-Rajasthan border to move towards the national capital.
