Lok Sabha Speaker’s daughter selected for civil services exam(2019) in her first attempt
Anjali Birla daughter of Loksabha Speaker Om Birla has been selected in her first attempt for civil services by the Union Public Service Commission(UPSC). Anjali studied political science (honours) from Ramjas College. She said her father’s commitment towards the people of the country made her to join civil services. She credited her success to her elder sister Akansha, a chartered accountant who helped her to clear the civil service exam. The result was declared on August 4, 2020. 829 candidates in order of merit are selected for IAS, IFS, IPS and other Group “A” and ‘B” central services against 927 vacancies. The commission recommended 89 candidates on Monday which includes Anjali for different civil services from its reserve list of 2019 civil service exam.
