CCB sleuths probing the case involving conman Yuvaraj Swamy have learned that he had taken Rs 8.8 crore from a retired judge who wanted to become a governor.
Meanwhile,several photos of Swamy along with BJP leaders V Somanna,Lakshman Savadi,and others as, Murgesh Nirani,Congress leader KC Venugopal and other leaders went viral on social media.When he was arrested,the police had seized several photos taken with central ministers including Amit Shah.
Conman Yuvaraj Swamy also duped retired judge with Rs 8.8 crore promising to get her governor posting.
The judge identified as,Indrakala,68,resident of Wilson garden deposed before the CCB in December last week accusing retired SP of mediating their meeting and introduced her to the conman.
The woman judge approached Wilson Garden police and filed a cheating case on December 21 and the case was transferred to CCB later.
In her deposition before CCB,alleged that in the year 2018 Swamy and his friend Papaiah,a retired SP came to her house and introduced Swamy as very powerful in BJP and RSS having link till the direct high command at the centre.
Swamy also claimed that he knew astrology and predicted she had bright future.Little did she knew that it was a ploy to lure her.
Swamy also told her the government is looking for a powerful woman having good background and he could see the qualities in her.
Papaiah who was at the spot told her to seize the opportunity and try her luck.When she confirmed that she wanted to try,Swamy asked to take up the issue and advise her to pay some money to party fund.
As per his advise the judge said that she had some cash at home after selling her site and also borrowed loan total sum of RS.95 lakh to Swamy’s account.
She also later paid RS.3.77 Crore and Rs 4.5 crore in different ocassion based on swamy demand.
However despite paying she neither got the desired posting nor Swamy returned the money.After repeated attempts she failed to get response until Swamy was caught in a similar case.
Senior officer, told reporters,the woman judge had approached Wilson Garden police to file a case on December 21 and an FIR was registered.
The case has been transferred to the CCB and the complainant said in her statement that Swamy had taken Rs 8.8 crore from her and had promised that he would help to appoint her as governor as he had enough contacts with the central government.
The woman had believed Swamy and paid money on a few occasions.She had also made a statement before the investigation officer who is investigating the case.
During recording the statement the woman judge said that a retired police officer,Papaiah from Mangaluru had gone with Swamy to Delhi three times to meet central ministers to lobby for a post.
The police are probing the link of Papaiah and have questioned him once.
Yuvaraj Swamy, (52), a resident of Nagarabavi claimed to be an astrologer and vaastu expert , has links with many Kannada film actors,Models and senior politicians and he was arrested by CCB on December 16.
