Bengaluru :Pune-based Serum Institute of India(SII) releases its first batch of Covishield vaccines to 13 locations in India including Bengaluru. On Tuesday the trucks started around 5 am from the SII campus. At 5.45 am, the process of loading in the aircraft started. Pune airport tweeted,
”Ready set go. Stand by India. The vaccine to kill the disease is being loaded onto the aircraft for distribution all over the country now.”
As Covishield rolled out of Pune’s Serum Institute of India(SII), its CEO-owner Adar Poonawalla tweeted, “An emotional moment for the team at SII as the first shipments of Covishield finally leaves for multiple locations across India.” Bengaluru got 6,48,000 doses of Covishield from SSI via Spicejet aircraft.
