Yadgir, January 26: Mines and Geology Minister Mr Murugesh R Nirani hoisted the national flag on the occasion of 72nd Republic Day celebration held at government pre-university college ground in Yadgir. The minister inspected the guard of honour during the parade and delivered his address.
Lauding the work of the BJP government at the Centre and State, Mr Murugesh Nirani said that the country and the state are marching on the path of development under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa.
The minister promised to speed up developmental projects in Yadgir district and steps to prevent illegal mining in the district.
The minister also felicitated several dignitaries from various walks of life for their contribution in nation building.
Several prominent personalities including MLA Venkatareddy Mudnal, Raju Gouda Nayak, Lok Sabha MP Raja Amareshwar Nayak, Zilla Panchayat President Basanagouda S Patil Yadiyapura, Deputy Commissioner Dr Ragapriya R, Superintendent of Police Rishikesh Bhagawan Sonawane and Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Shilpa Sharma took part in the Republic Day celebrations.
