Controversial writer and rationalist professor.KS Bhagwan was attacked with ink when he appeared before the metropolitan court for a hearing on Thursday .
While he was walking out of the court premises after attending the court woman advocate Meera Raghavendra confronted him and slapped ink on his face and shouted at him for criticising Hindu gods and said she is ready to face any action for her act.
A gunman and police constable present at the spot soon escorted professor.bhagwan outside the premises.
Meera later posted a tweet on social media account stating that ishe taught lesson to intellect and anti relegion person .
Incidentally,a few months ago,Meera had filed a private complaint against the professor for allegedly hurting religious sentiments.Prof. Bhagwan’s lawyer, Surya Mukundaraj,said that his client will also be filing complaints against Ms. Meera before the Bar Council and the Advocates’ Association.
Calling the attack disrespectful,Mr.Mukundaraj said,Attacking Prof.Bhagwan in the court premises despite the presence of security shows that it was a premeditated act and a deep-rooted conspiracy that needs a detailed investigation.
Professor.Bhagwan later filed a complaint with the Halasurugate police.Based on complaint Halasurgate police registered case against Meera charging her under section,341,323,504 and 506,wrongful restraint,assault and criminal Intimidation and further investigation is on.
