Koppal, February 27: Mines and Geology Minister Murugesh Nirani vehemently denied allegations against him and dared his opponents to prove charges. The minister said he will quit immediately if they prove charges against him.
Addressing the media personnel after holding a review meeting with the officials of Mines and Geology department here, Nirani said his foundation had provided employment opportunities to thousands of people. “MRN foundation is doing Rs 5,000 crore transactions and provided jobs to over 75,000 people. I am an industrialist and not in a pathetic situation to demand Rs 5-10 lakh bribe. I am ready to quit as minister even if they prove me accepting Rs 10 as bribe”, Nirani challenged.
The minister warned of tough action against anyone misusing his name and asked the public to directly lodge complaint against such persons. Nirani said he is trying his best to bring maximum transparency in his department.
