Muskan from Nepal selects for international women of courage award
After rejecting a boy’s love proposal, she attacked with acid by him. Determined Muskan fought against him and succeeded in bringing harsh penalties and regulations on the sale of acid by the Nepal govt.
A lawyer from Sri Lanka has been selected for this award for fighting and defending the rights of the marginalized and vulnerable communities in the country, despite threats and challenges by the state. Other recipients of the award are from Belarus, Cameron, Columbia, Congo, Guatemala, Iran, Spain, Turkey and Venezuela.
