Govindapura Drugs case :Model Sonia Agarwal & her friend arrested in Drugs case
The East Division police of Govindapura Police on Monday raided the houses of three persons including a model,DJ and a realtor for having links with a Nigerian drug peddler who was arrested red handed along with the ecstasy pills worth Rs 15.5 lakh on August 12.
The police searched the house of the suspects and later arrested Sonia Agarwal,a city based model from a star hotel on RRMR circle,where she was hiding.
The police team have seized three packets containing narcotics from her house and are questioning her about the source of the drugs.
Senior officer told media persons,The police took her into custody for questioning while issuing notices to DJ Vachan Chinnappa and realtor Bharath to appear for questioning .
Their role came to light when a team led by Lokesh N,PSI,Govindapura based on a tip off Nigerian drug peddler Thomas Anagaha Kalu,37,was arrested while he was waiting for his customers on HBR Layout on August 12.
The police later raided his house in Sampigehalli and recovered 403 ecstasy pills along with a scooter and a mobile he was operating .
Further investigations revealed that Kalu did not have any travel documents and peddling drugs for the past many years.
He was sourcing the drugs from his contact in Delhi and selling it to his customers who are IT professionals,students and also DJ,businessmen and models.
Going by the nature of interactions between Kalu and the detained persons,Police suspect that the accused are not only consumers but also peddlers who are attending high end parties frequently to peddle the drugs.
Thomas, an African national was arrested on August 12 and police seized lakhs of Rupees worth of synthetic drugs from him in Govindapura.
Thomas had told the police about the roles of Sonial Agarwal,Bharath and Vachan Chinnappa.
The accused are alleged to be procuring drugs and distributing them to celebrities,film actors, and elite people in Bengaluru.
The accused were also said to have organized rave parties at their residences,police sources added.
Special police teams conducted simultaneous raids on the residences of the accused in Rajajinagar,Benson Town and Padmanabhanagar, Banashankari 2 Stage.
Actress,Sonia Agarwal has been picked up from a private luxury hotel by the police as she was not found at her residence.
The police sources said that they have seized ganja from the accused persons’residence.
This is the third such case involving high end customers including models and DJs and businessmen linked to drug peddlers .
