Central Government transfers Rs 17,100 Crore to farmers' bank account under PM-KISAN scheme
Sixth installment of the PM-KISAN schemes money about 17,000 crore is transferred today to the accounts of over 8.5 crore farmers. Under the PM-KISAN scheme, each farmer receives up to Rs 6000 per year as minimum income support. This scheme is totally funded by the Central government. Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojna scheme was launched in the year 2018 (Dec).
The funds are directly transferred into the Aadhaar authenticated beneficiaries' bank account to prevent leakage. This scheme supported farmers during the pandemic period, through the release of nearly Rs 22,000 crore to aid the farmers during the pandemic period, the government said.
