Forest personnels save elephant from a pit
   

Hanur, Chamarajanagar : An elephant fell into a pit at Male Mahadeshwara Wildlife sanctuary, Bore Forest area, Hanur, and could not come out of it. Locals seeing the plight of the elephant called forest officers on Wednesday morning. Forest personnel who reach the spot lifted the elephant out of the pit with the help of an excavator. Later the elephant released into the forest.

Indian Elephant is found in good numbers within the sanctuary. The sanctuary lies in Chamarajanagar district of Karnataka. It is at a distance 140 km from Mysuru and 210 km from Bengaluru.
