India surpasses Brazil, has second-highest cases at 42.04 lakh

In the last 24 hours, India recorded 90,802 fresh cases taking the country’s tally to 42 lakh. This is the second consecutive day that the country registered over 90,000 new positive cases in 24 hours. And 1,016 deaths have been recorded from the past 24 hours. Now India has the second-largest covid-19 positive cases in the world after the USA. Currently, the United States has 62.75 lakh cases. Brazil has registered 4.1 million cases of the virus since the pandemic began, while the death toll has risen to 126,203, according to ministry data.

According to World Organizational data, India has been reporting the highest number of daily Covid cases in the world for nearly a month. About 32.5 lakh Covid patients in the country have recovered so far, over 69,000 recoveries were recorded in the last 24 hours. Across the country 71,642 deaths linked to Covid have been registered since the beginning of the pandemic.
