Mysuru Gang Rape case cracked: Five including minor arrested - Home Minister Araga Jnanendra announced 5 Lakh rupees for investigation team 

The police managed to crack the mysore gang rape case and arrested five accused including a juvenile from the neighbouring state. There are total six accused involved in the gangrape among them one is on the run, efforts are on to track him down, praveen sood,DG IGP, said .  

Karnataka Home Minister,Araga Jnanendra on Saturday called the Mysore gang rape case a success.

DG IGP Praveen Sood said that 5,including a minor have been arrested. All belong to Tirupur in Tamil Nadu.

A sixth accused is on the run and the police are working to hunt him down, he said.

The Karnataka top cop,whose force had been criticised for not making any arrests following the horrific events of Tuesday evening,also said,It is a sensitive case.We have technical and scientific evidence.

They come to Mysore frequently.Labour class workers.Wiring,carpentry.One of them is a juvenile.17 years old.That needs to be reconfirmed.This is our preliminary information, added Sood.

Sood said that the rape and robbery occurred on 24 August between 7-8pm.

We registered the complain on 25 August.The boy and the girl were dragged they were being robbed. It was unsuccessful.Following which the girl was raped,said Sood.

The victim has not given any statement so far.It’s normal.We should be sensitive to the trauma she’s suffering.No police official has been able to exchange a word with her,he added.

A student in Karnataka was gang-raped near Mysore on Tuesday evening and her friend was badly beaten up on objecting. 

The gangrape of the young MBA student in the cultural capital of Karnataka left the country in shock.Meanwhile,Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai had instructed the police to take stringent action against the culprits.

The girl, in her early 20s,had gone to the foothills of the Chamundi Hills,a prominent pilgrim and tourist destination,with her classmate.

Four others who were in the vicinity then accosted them and tried to attack the student. When her friend objected,he was beaten with stones and overpowered.The girl was taken to a desolate location and raped by the four men who were in an intoxicated state.

Her friend reached out to the police and lodged a complaint first while the victim later gave her statement. 

The police said she has been admitted to a private hospital while her family members are coming from Maharashtra.She was out of danger and was able to give leads on the culprits.

Terming it a very unfortunate incident, Home Minister Araga Jnanendra had said he directed police to take stern action against the culprits.

Finally Chief Minister of Karnataka,Basavaraj Bommai,Home Minister of Karnataka,Araga Jnanendra,has appreciated Karnataka DG-IGP, Praveen Sood and his team as,ADGP, law and order,Pratap Reddy,Mysuru Police Commissioner,Dr.Chandragupta,and their whole 7 special team who cracked the case using technical and scientific evidence,he said adding that Rs 5 lakh reward was announced to the team who cracked the case withing record time he added.
