NIRANI PLANS TO UNVEIL ‘KALABURAGI VISION 2050’, WANTS TO GET RID OF THE BACKWARD DISTRICT TAG

• Minister Nirani to unveil ‘Kalaburagi Vision 2050’ 
• Scheme for overall development of district in next 30 years
• Panels for education, agriculture and other sectors to be formed
• Intellectuals, people’s representatives, senior officials to be part of panels
• Nirani plans to get consultancy service of multinational firms


Kalaburagi, May 29: Mines and Geology and Kalaburagi district in-charge Minister Murugesh Nirani is planning to unveil ‘Kalaburagi Vision 2050’ for the next 30 years to usher in overall development in the district. 

Addressing the press meet at DC’s office here on Saturday, the minister announced his plan to unveil ‘Kalaburagi Vision 2050’ to develop the district in the next 30 years. “The ‘Kalaburagi Vision 2050’ programme is still at nascent stage and discussions are underway. This scheme would be first of its kind in Karnataka. And fifteen committees with regards to education, agriculture, industries and rural development would be formed. People’s representatives, retired professionals and experts in related fields would be part of these committees and senior district officials of each department would be appointed as members,” explained Nirani.

The minister further added that the chairpersons of all these committees would also function as members of main (primary) committee. The district in-charge minister, Lok Sabha MP, MLAs, MLCs, DCs and others would be part of the main committee.

Elaborating further on the vision document, minister Nirani said intellectuals from Kalaburagi who are ready to extend pro bono services would be included in the panel. The services of eminent retired chief secretary  such as SV Ranganath would also be availed. After the formation of the panel, experts from IISc-Bengaluru would impart training to the members. “A lot needs to be done regarding ‘Kalaburagi Vision 2050’. We are considering to get consultancy service from multinational firms such as IL&FSL and E&Y in this regard. We want Kalaburagi get rid of the backward district tag and usher in real economic growth in Kalyana Karnataka region ,” said Nirani

Pointing out achievements in education sector in his Bilagi constituency in Bagalkot, Nirani said ‘Kalaburagi Vision 2050’ would propel similar growth in the district. “Kalaburagi is a mineral-rich district but those from outside Karnataka are exploiting it and developing. We need to empower highly educated local talent to start businesses and thereby helping them provide jobs to hundreds of people in the next 10-20 years,” opined the minister.
